Axalta Coating Systems on Wednesday said it opened its expanded Technology Center Savli in Vadodara (Gujarat), India. “At Axalta, we monitor automotive trends and forecast how color preferences are changing in the automotive market,” added Sobers Sethi, Axalta vice president and president, Emerging Markets. The center has an automotive coatings development laboratory and color laboratory, according to Ashutosh Kushwaha, marketing specialist.
In the former, special paint formulations to ensure color match, aesthetics and quality will be developed, Kushwaha said. The new laboratory space will feature contemporary robotic spray applicators that can simulate line application conditions inside customer manufacturing plants, he added. According to Kushwaha, the equipment is designed to facilitate the development, approval, quality control, and customer line support required by auto-OEM customers. Additional capabilities at the facility also include color measurement tools and accelerated paint testing equipment.
Axalta also has offices and regional training centers in Gurugram, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru and Vadodara
